Radiation Protection: Maintenance & Repair of X-ray Devices On-site with Quality Assurance (SR720)
Modules RG + Z2 + QS /expert knowledge groups R1.2, R1.3, R2.2, R3, R4, R5.2, R6.2
The course serves to acquire specialist knowledge for experts and persons who carry out or oversee inspections, trials, maintenance and repairs of X-ray facilities in the medical field (S6.2).
The following topics will be covered:
- Legal fundamentals, recommendations and guidelines
- Tasks and duties of the radiation protection supervisor
- Basics of natural science and radiation physics
- Human exposure to radiation
- Effect of radiation on man and matter
- Dose terms, dose units, risk assessment
- Personal dosimetry
- X-ray devices and sources of interference (construction, function, tests, type approvals)
- Radiation protection technology, safety and measurement technology
- Radiation protection, quality assurance and prevention regarding X-ray facilities
- Practical exercises on an X-ray system.
The course concludes with an examination. The Regulatory Authority acknowledges the successful completion of the course as the acquisition of the requisite competence for the competence categories R1.2, R1.3, R2.2, R3, R4, R5.2 and R6.2 (modules RG, Z2, QS). This acknowledgement is valid unrestrictedly in the Federal Republic of Germany.
